He died say 14 March 1862; as he was reported missing in action at New Bern on that date. He was born in Craven County where he resided as a farmer and enlisted at age 40 on 20 Aug 1861. He served in 2nd Co. I, 10th Regiment, NCST (1st Reg. Artillery.)1
