Thomas Whitford was born before 1706; as a petition from March 1770 states Thomas was "aged sixty four years and upwards." He married Sarah (?) Thomas Whitford sold land to John Hartley on 28 March 1748 at Craven County, North Carolina.1 Thomas Whitford sold land to William? Whitford on 28 March 1748 at Craven County, North Carolina.2 Thomas purchased property from the estate of Lawrence Hilend or Hylins on 24 February 1755.3 He conducted the estate sale of John Speight on 1 May 1759.4 In March 1770 Thomas petitioned Craven County court "that your poor petitioner being much afflicted with pains and reduced in his circumstances so that it is out of his power to pay Taxes and support a wife more aged than himself who labours under many griecous affliction among which are that of Periodical Fits [which] renders her helpless for a long time after." He died circa September 1781 at Craven County, North Carolina.5
